As softball season dwindles down, we are soon approaching Senior Day. After four years of playing together and becoming not only teammates, but sisters, us seniors will play our final home game as Bradley Softball players. As everyone would agree, college has flown by. Although there were times that I wished for the future to come faster, I now realize that I am not ready for it to end and I'm sure as heck not ready to move away from the family I have gained here. So in honor of my crazy, marvelous, wacky, discombobulated, amazing teammates, the baby animal of the week is... the Gibbon!
What's the comparison you're wondering? Well, Gibbons are one of few animals that are monogamous, meaning they mate for life. Throughout their entire lives Gibbons reside with their family groups consisting of adult pairs and their offspring. The families stake out territories and defend it by using loud, echoing calls. The Gibbon families also participate in "sing-alongs" and create complex songs for the group to sing.
As strange as it may seem, this represents my team perfectly. No matter what, we will always be a family. Although we aren't as lucky as the Gibbons to physically stay together, we will always share a bond that no one else understands. We will defend each other at all costs, no matter what the distance. And don't forget the singing! We are geniuses when it comes to singing and song writing!
Hopefully my teammates are better singers than this =P
These are too adorable!!! Those noises are crazy!?
